Housing Commission

The Housing Commission (HC), established in 2009, is a five-member advisory body appointed by the Housing Authority and coordinated by the City Clerk's Office. Its primary functions are to review and make recommendations on all matters that come before the Housing Authority prior to Housing Authority action, except emergency matters and matters which the Housing Authority excludes from HC review. The Housing section within the City Manager's Office coordinates the Commission and assists with agenda preparation, conducts quarterly meetings, and advises commissioners on all matters that require action by the Housing Authority.

Housing Commission Names Christopherson Chair for 2026-27

The commission voted unanimously by roll call to appoint Commissioner Christopherson chair and approved a vice chair appointment, though the transcript is inconsistent on the vice chair's name.

Why it matters: The chair presides over meetings and is responsible for order and decorum, so the appointments set leadership for the fiscal year.
