Committee Backs $25,000 Plein Air Festival Sponsorship Again

The committee voted 5-0 to recommend continuing the $25,000 sponsorship and to request better post-event reporting on attendance, Palm Desert participation and economic impact.

Why it matters: The request matches 2025 and 2026 levels, and the added reporting responds to the fact that the 3,400-plus visits figure counts repeat visits rather than unique attendees.

Committee Seats Grant as Chair, Rose as Vice Chair

The committee approved the rotation-based appointment of Erin Grant as chair and Pia Rose as vice chair for 2026-2027.

Why it matters: The City Council's 2025 rotation system determines leadership, and neither scheduled officer sought to defer.
